Students will earn Dojo (or monster) points throughout the day for following expectations, being kind and applying the 7 Habits. Once students reach a certain amount of points, they will be able to "clip up" on the clip chart accordingly. However, students can also lose points for not following expectations, being unkind and losing sight of their 7 Habits. My classroom operates on a "3 strike policy." Students have 3 chances throughout the day before they receive a consequence for what is deemed a "minor" offense (talking out of turn, not following hallway expectations, etc.). After 3 warnings, or loss of points, students will be asked to move their clip to yellow. Students must earn 5 positive points to move back up to green and get back on track!
Wall of FameWhen students move their clip to "Top of the Chart" or "Off of the Chart," they receive a "dot" on their clip. After they receive 3 dots, their clip will be moved to the "Wall of Fame" and the next day they will have "Leveled Up" to a new color of clip! Each new color has an increased number of dots needed. Each time your child "levels up," they will bring home a note to let you know of their accomplishment!

These are the words on my clipchart. The colors vary slightly though- GREEN is where everyone starts and then they can move up to dark blue, teal, and purple. After purple, students can move to "Top of the Chart" and then "Off the Chart" (clipped to my lanyard). Moving down would be yellow, orange, and red. Yellow is a warning, orange is a consequence, and red is parent contact/office.
